Welcome to the web log of the Western Erie Canal cruise of Patrick and Mary Fowles in our 25’ C Dory Cosmic C. We left our vacation home on Pine Tree Island in the St. Lawrence river on September 16, 2012 and spent eleven days enjoying the western half of the historic Erie Canal. We had intended to make this cruise a loop by continuing on to the Welland canal, Hamilton, and Toronto, returning via the north shore of Lake Ontario, but bad weather on the lake forced a change in plans.
